Let's analyze the title first. The only site that is 100% optimized for the keyword "make money online" is the #1 site. Notice he doesn't have a title like Make Money Online - Learn How To Make Money. The title is a huge factor to ranking high in SEO. If you want to beat sites that have higher PR than you, go with a 100% optimized title for the keyword that you want to dominate.
Now, we will look at the link. Keywords in the link are important factor too. The only site that has all the keywords is entrepreneurs.about.com/od/homebasedbusiness/a/makemoneyonline.htm. The 3 words "make money online" are all in the last part of the link as you can see. The other 3 sites all have "money" and "make".
Finally, we will look at the PR. The first site with PR 4 is not scared of the 2nd site with a PR 5. The 1st site has fully optimized title, and if you use this search search.yahoo.com/search?p=link:http://moneymakerinfo.blogspot.com/, you will find many sites that link to moneymakerinfo.blogspot.com with anchor text links "Make Money Online".
DO YOU WANT TO COMPETE IN THE MMO NICHE FOR SEO?
If you want to compete in the Make Money Online keyword, you have extremely tough competitors. I would say the top 20 for that keyword have a very good idea on SEO. This is why it is preferable that you choose a niche that is not online marketing related. Don't choose saturated niches such as Weight Loss either because they are full of SEO pros.

You can seriously just type in one little keyword into Google keyword tool, and it will come up with lots of brainstorming ideas for you. When you type in the word, make sure the box right below it is checked for "Use Synonyms" so you will get ideas.
