Advanced Link Building With Blog Comments

There are many people out there that would teach you the basics of link building through blog comments, but they only give you the basic non-sense crap. The non-sense rehash stuff has been going on forever in webmaster forums. They simply tell you to find high pagerank dofollow blogs, and then comment on them. That is the basic idea they will give you because they don't know any better.

WHAT MAKES THIS POST ANY DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE REHASH CRAP YOU SEE OUT THERE?

Those people don't tell you this: Just because the blog's HOMEPAGE has high pagerank does not mean the post that you are commenting on will have high pagerank as well. The post you are commenting on might have pagerank of 0. If the post has 0 pagerank, then it will not pass any link juice to your site. You can have a million links in that post alone, but if it has 0 pagerank, it has NOTHING. Doesn't matter if you have the correct anchor text link pointing to your site. 0 juice = NOTHING!

It doesn't matter if the blog is dofollow when the post you are commenting on has no pagerank. If you don't have SEO For Firefox yet, then you need to get it to save you time on finding out if the post has pagerank or not. Don't worry, SEO For Firefox is absolutely free of charge with no gimmick.

I see so many newbie webmasters complaining that commenting on dofollow blogs are waste of time. Newbies don't know a damn thing about SEO!

Here is the proper way to do it:

1.) You are 100% sure that the blog you want to comment on is dofollow. I'm not going to explain what dofollow is since millions of webmasters are talking about it. You briefly skim through some posts, and you see that the posts are dofollow. Ok, go to the next step.

2.) Copy the link of the homepage. Ex. http://www.xyz123.com

3.) Go to Google search engine, and then type this in - Site:http://www.xyz123.com
No spaces after the colon!

4.) Now, make sure your SEO For Firefox is turned on. You should see the little blue toolbar under each link that is showing in the search engine. Click the question mark to reveal the PR of each link.

5.) Usually, the blog posts will show up in page 2+. The first page would usually show privacy policy, about me, etc. links.

6.) Don't be surprised to find blog posts that have higher pagerank than the homepage. This is common when the specific post goes viral and everyone is linking to it. You know those posts with like 1000+ Beautiful Free Templates titles? Yea, those links are usually link baits!

7.) Avoid blog posts that have a "-" or "0" for PR. However, if a post is new or fairly new, it might not be indexed by Google, or it might not have received a pagerank because Google does not update their pageranks frequently.

8.) If the post has hundreds of people commenting on there, the link juice isn't worth much because it is shared with all of those people who put their link in the comment. If the post only has very few or nobody at all, BINGO!

After that, now what?

9.) Look carefully at the comment policy of each blog. If it's a WordPress blog, 99% of the time you can't have keyword names like Make Money Online or SEO Services because it won't go through the spam filter.

10.) Does the blog have Keywordluv plugin? If it does, always use your real name/nickname and then your keywords. For example, Kai Lo@SEO Services. That will pass through spam filters, at least all the blogs I commented on did!

11.) When there is no Keywordluv available, and it is a WordPress blog, I use a keyword for another niche site, such as Humidifier. I'm sure you have more than 1 or 2 sites right? Some blog owners are lenient with keyword names as long as your comment was thoughtful. At the end of the blog post, you can always put your real name at the bottom. When in doubt about keyword names, look at all the other comments on the site.

12.) Some blogs might not enable dofollow until you comment X amount of comments. Keep that in mind too. Typically, you would see a comment count next to your name, such as, Kai Lo (1 comment). Blog owners generally set this to 3 comments+ if they do have the plugin. I think the plugin is just plain silly.

13.) Don't use the same keyword for all your comments in every blog. Vary your keywords because you want your link building to be "natural" to Google. For example:

seo
seo company
seo services
seo tools
etc.

14.) After you commented on a few posts from that one particular blog, move on to the next! Linkbuilding is like a voting system. One site = one vote. Million links from that one site will still equal one vote. Come back to that blog to post a few comments here and there later on to network with the blog owner. Participate, help, flirt with the blog owner, do whatever to network. You want to build up friendship, so you can make your linkbuilding journey much easier!

WHERE TO FIND THESE HIGH PAGERANK DOFOLLOW BLOGS?

There are blog posts out there that have PR 5+. Not going to post them here because I don't want millions of newbie webmasters flock over there posting "Nice post!" That is just asking the blog owner to disable dofollow!

Generally, if the blog owner has sitemap/archive in the homepage somewhere, most or all of his or her blog posts would have a decent pagerank if the homepage has pagerank of 3+.

Also, if your favorite blog that is related to your blog is a nofollow blog, you can still ask the blog owner someday if that person can add your link to their site. Your link can be set as dofollow, but that is all up to the blog owner. NETWORKING IS KEY! Go make friends!

I don't know what else to say here. Bye for now!
